Casco Bay Glass is made in Portland, Maine by artist Ben Coombs. Most objects are sold through this site, or at our Portland studio. We eliminate the gallery in the middle and pass the savings onto you. The average cost of a basic ball ornament in a gift shop averages $22-$28, ours are $17 including shipping! We can keep prices low while maintaining a very high level of quality.

Everything is hand blown using traditional hand tools, blow pipes, and techniques. Pieces are created, then loaded into a large kiln called an "annealer". The annealer cools the glass slowly overnight. In the morning the kiln is unloaded and the pieces are cold finished and ready for shipping.

Owner/Artist Ben Coombs has been blowing glass for 17 years, and opened the Portland Glassblowing Studio in 2002. This is where he creates his own artwork, as well as the products of Casco Bay Glass.
